Setting up a proxy on your computer helps you hide your IP address and keep your internet connection secure. Follow these steps for your specific operating system:

For Windows (Windows 10 and Windows 11)

  1. Open network settings
Click the network icon in the bottom right corner of your screen and select "Network & Internet settings."

  2. Go to proxy settings
In the menu on the left, click on "Proxy."

  3. Set up a proxy server
Scroll down to the "Manual proxy setup" section. Toggle on "Use a proxy server."

  4. Enter proxy details
Enter the proxy server address and port number provided by SimplyNode in your Dashboard. Click "Save" to apply the changes.

  5. Test your connection
Open your browser and visit a website that shows your IP address to confirm the proxy is working correctly.

Note: Once you set up a proxy, all apps on your computer will use it ℹ️

For macOS (macOS Ventura and Monterey)

  1. Open network preferences
Click the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen and choose "System Settings" (Ventura) or "System Preferences" (Monterey and earlier).

  2. Go to network settings
Click on "Network" and select your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

  3. Access proxy configuration
Click "Details" (Ventura) or "Advanced" (Monterey) in the bottom right corner, then go to the "Proxies" tab.

  4. Choose proxy type and enter details
Select the proxy type you need (HTTP or SOCKS) and enter the proxy server information provided by SimplyNode in your Dashboard. Click "OK" (Monterey) or “Done” (Ventura), then click "Apply" to save the settings.

  5. Test your connection
Open your browser and visit a site that displays your IP address to check if the proxy is set up correctly.

Note: Once you set up a proxy, all apps on your computer will use it ℹ️

And there you go! Your proxy is now configured, and you're ready to browse securely.
